Like clockwork, another year has rolled around and the Stony Brook women’s lacrosse team has a case that the NCAA Tournament selection committee gave the Seawolves a raw deal with regards to their playoff fate.
So far, after playing five non-conference games, the men’s soccer team has started the season 4-1, beating LIU, Drexel, Columbia and Fairfield while only narrowly losing to Hofstra in between. The team’s 4-1 start is the best since 2004.
Stony Brook ends its regular season this Saturday in a home game against Vermont. The Seawolves defeated the Catamounts, 72-61, in the teams’ first meeting this season.
To kick off homecoming weekend, Stony Brook men’s soccer hosted America East and SUNY rival University at Albany. Coming into Friday night’s matchup, the Seawolves were 4-4 coming off a challenging non-conference schedule that included a trip to Philadelphia where they suffered two loses to Villanova and Drexel.
