Girnun could face a maximum of 10 years in jail without parole, and “a fine to be determined,” according to a U.S. Department of Justice press release.
At a Dec. 3 court status conference, Stony Brook Associate Professor Geoffrey Girnun was granted a speedy trial waiver due to “ongoing plea negotiations.”
