The rowing club has been working toward this success for decades. The crew program began on the original Oyster Bay campus around 1958 before the Stony Brook campus was built.

Students at Stony Brook University have been celebrating Black History Month by taking part in and organizing numerous events around campus. Among these events was a spoken word competition held at the Tabler Blackbox Theatre on Wednesday, Feb. 19, complete with a table of individuals who judged the participants on their spoken words and poems.
Stony Brook students competed in the worldwide IEEEXtreme programming competition Friday a second time since its inception. The SBU chapter of world-renowned engineering association, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE), held the 24-hour long competition on Friday.
