For nearly an hour, it seemed like the African Student Union's annual "Laugh Your Guts Out" comedy show on Saturday night was slated for disaster. Twenty people filled the SAC Auditorium at 8 p.m., the call time on flyers, and two of the five comedians had not yet arrived
It’s 6:15 p.m. and there is already a line inside of the Staller Center. Students are lined up in anticipation for the performance of one Demetri Martin, the acclaimed comic known for his visual display of jokes and twists on word play.

This is the case for the upcoming SBU4Casey Comedy Night, a fundraiser for Stony Brook University’s Assistant Director of Intramurals and Sport Club Programming Casey Ellin. The show, on display this Friday, Sept. 27 at the SAC Auditorium at 8 p.m., showcases local comedians cracking hot jokes for the likes of students and staff.
Comedy is hot at Stony Brook. The Student Activities Center (SAC) Auditorium may not have been packed with students for the Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Company, but it was certainly filled with boisterous laughter.
