In their fourth NCAA Tournament appearance, the Stony Brook women’s soccer team fell to the Ohio State Buckeyes 5-1 in the first round on Wednesday, April 28 in Cary, North Carolina.
Stony Brook women’s soccer team won its third America East title in the last four years. The win in Lowell, Massachusetts secured the program’s fourth NCAA Tournament bid, having previously earned a berth in 2012, 2017 and 2019.
The NCAA instituted a ban on in-person recruiting in March and has extended the ban on a monthly basis. Other subsequent rulings have left coaches and administrators trying to hit a moving target while they attempt to do their jobs.
The Stony Brook women’s soccer team increased their season opening win streak to three games as they defeated the University of Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens on Friday, Aug. 27 by a score of 2-1.
