Stony Brook University held an in-person commencement ceremony for the class of 2020 on Sept. 10 to celebrate their graduation achievements during the ongoing pandemic.
As classes went virtual due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, students might have expected for requirements to be loosened, however, that wasn’t the case
For Melanie Fales, a senior and Stony Brook’s last theatre major, the university’s decision to go remote impacted so much more than just her senior experiences.
“It was like a slap in the face that they took our money for four years and can’t even make an effort to tell us that they plan on rescheduling it,” she said.
