Stony Brook, in failing to complete a series sweep, falls to a 12-10 conference record and will have to settle for the No. 3 seed in the America East tournament.
The Stony Brook baseball team hosted Maine in a three-game series at Joe Nathan Field this past weekend. The Seawolves hit four home runs and walked 27 times in the series sweep of the Black Bears.
However, things did not go in their favor, as the Hawks swept all three weekend games, including two walk-offs hits from Hartford junior shortstop Ben Bengston.
The Seawolves notched 17 combined hits, a season-high, en route to beating Iona, 13-2. Stony Brook won its third straight game and improves its overall record to 11-14.
Stony Brook Baseball defeated Manhattan 11-10 on Tuesday at Joe Nathan Field. The Seawolves improve their overall record to 6-12 and have now won two consecutive games.
The Stony Brook baseball team won one of three games during a west-coast series against UC Santa Barbara over the weekend. The Seawolves now have a 5-12 record this season.
