The baseball team has turned from one with an offense that would have to secure every victory to one that is balanced and determined to make some noise.
The Stony Brook baseball team set itself up in the drivers’ seat of the 2014 America East Baseball Championship by winning its first two matchups, defeating No. 4 Maine and No. 2 Hartford.
Through four innings of play, it looked as if the Stony Brook Seawolves were going to have yet another defense-first game Tuesday afternoon at Joe Nathan Field. Two innings later, the Seawolves quadrupled their run total and ran away with a 9-3 victory over the Marist Red Foxes.
After a hot start, scoring two runs in the first two innings, the Stony Brook baseball team had to toughen up and grind through the final seven innings en route to a 3-2 victory Tuesday night at Joe Nathan Field.
