Center for the Study of Men and Masculinities researches “toxic masculinity” amid a post-Weinstein climate

Founded in 2013 with a grant from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the Center for the Study of Men and Masculinities engages in the research of boys, men, masculinities and gender in order “to foster greater social justice” in gender relations, according to the center’s website.

New center for masculine studies under fire

Few college press releases have web notoriety like the one released in May on Stony Brook University’s new Center for the Study of Men and Masculinities. Already, the internet is stacked with articles, comments and online petitions decrying the new center.
