With Sunday’s win, Stony Brook advances to its first America East Conference final since 2013. This also marks the first time in America East Conference history that a No. 5-ranked team has advanced to the final since the conference moved to a six-team playoff format in 2001.
Raven Edwards tallied a pair of goals Sunday, including an 87th minute penalty kick, to give the Seawolves a 3-2 victory over previously undefeated New Hampshire.
With its 1-0 loss at New Hampshire on Sunday, the Stony Brook women’s soccer team lost hope of qualifying for the America East Tournament, finishing the season in 7th place in the conference.
