The Stony Brook women’s basketball team took down the Hofstra Pride on Monday, Dec. 14 by a final score of 63-52 at Island Federal Arena, extending the team’s current win streak against the Pride to four years in a row.
Having seemingly stymied the Bryant Bulldogs with a defensive zone, it appeared as if the Stony Brook men’s basketball team was on its way to victory. Instead, the Seawolves dropped their third straight, 81-72, on Saturday, Dec. 12.
On Thursday, Nov. 5, Stony Brook released its America East conference schedule for seven sports set to play in the spring: baseball, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s soccer, softball and volleyball.
The 6-foot-2 lefty from Rotterdam, New York broke out in 2019. As a freshman, he batted .233 and hit one home run in 60 at-bats. Sophomore year showed slight improvements, with a .263 average and six homers while starting in 54 games. However, it was as a junior when Hamilton began to bloom into full form.
Stony Brook (18-1, 6-0) set the tone early on against their rivals with a commanding 10-0 lead just three minutes into the first quarter, a lead the Seawolves did not relinquish for the rest of the matchup.
