The Stony Brook baseball team had a big bounceback weekend down in Cullowhee, North Carolina, winning its first series of the year against the Western Carolina Catamounts.
Despite overall competitiveness in a three-game series against the McNeese State Cowboys from Friday, Feb. 18 to Sunday, Feb. 20, the Stony Brook baseball team dropped the series to begin its season 1-2.
Due to inclement weather conditions, the Seawolves’ championship round game was suspended and eventually canceled, sending SBU home empty-handed as NJIT was controversially crowned champion by the America East as the only unbeaten team in the event.
The Stony Brook baseball team is now 5-7 in its last 12 games after splitting its last regular season four-game home series against the NJIT Highlanders at Joe Nathan Field on Saturday, May 8 and Sunday, May 9.
