Needing a win to remain afloat in the America East playoff picture, the Stony Brook volleyball team began the second wave of conference play by taking down the Hartford Hawks in four sets on Friday, Oct. 25, improving to 8-13 (3-3 AE).
Holding on to a 2-0 lead in the second half, the Stony Brook men’s soccer team appeared to be on its way to its first conference victory of the season at home on Saturday, Oct. 19 versus the Binghamton Bearcats.
The Stony Brook women’s soccer team carried on their three-game winning streak with a 2-0 defeat of conference rival Binghamton on Sunday, Oct. 6, propelling them to the top of the America East standings with an undefeated 3-0 conference record and a 9-4 overall record.
In their final non-conference matchup of the season, the Stony Brook volleyball team defeated the Columbia Lions in four sets on Monday, Sept. 30. Improving their record to 5-11, the Seawolves have no one but America East opponents ahead of them in their regular season schedule.
