In what was the greatest performance in program history, the Stony Brook women’s soccer team picked up its first win in the Colonial Athletic Association. The Seawolves hosted the Hampton Pirates at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 25.
The Seawolves hosted the Providence Friars at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 4 for their sixth game of the season. The Friars’ offense ran circles around the Stony Brook defense and handed Stony Brook a 4-2 loss.
An infusion of youth has turned this entire team around, as the Seawolves appear reborn in the early stretch of their 2022 season. Still playing in the non-conference part of their schedule, Stony Brook has gotten off to a 3-2 start.
The Stony Brook women’s soccer team was held scoreless through the first 88 minutes, but all they needed were the final two. The team opened up the 2022-23 sports year for the University by pulling off an improbable come-from-behind victory over Fordham 2-1.
