A group of faculty members have authored an open letter to the Stony Brook administration, accusing the University of criminalizing free speech and peaceful protest.

Stony Brook University professor Anna Hayward received a public denunciation from the University after posting a controversial social media comment about a police-involved shooting. In response, a group of eight faculty members held a teach-in about the policing of free speech.
