After leading the Stony Brook men’s lacrosse team and America East conference with 34 goals this season, redshirt freshman attackman Dylan Pallonetti made league history as he won the Rookie of the Year and the Offensive Player of the Year award.
A crucial clock error cost the No. 19-ranked Stony Brook men’s lacrosse team in the toughest way possible as the Seawolves lost their second straight game on Saturday, May 1 on the road against the Vermont Catamounts 14-13.
In the Seawolves’ final home match of the spring 2021 season, the team celebrated Kerstetter on Senior Night and earned a victory to split a doubleheader with the New Hampshire Wildcats at Pritchard Gymnasium on Sunday, March 14.
The Seawolves lost in four sets to the UMBC Retrievers on Friday, Nov. 8 before traveling upstate to face the Albany Great Danes on Sunday, Nov. 10, where they achieved the same result. Despite the two-game losing streak, Stony Brook was still able to clinch a spot in the America East playoffs.
The Stony Brook men’s lacrosse team was defeated by the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) Retrievers on Thursday, May 2 by a final score of 14-8. The loss came at home at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium and in the first round of the America East Playoffs, ending the Seawolves’ season and killing their playoff hopes early.
