The Seawolves lost in four sets to the UMBC Retrievers on Friday, Nov. 8 before traveling upstate to face the Albany Great Danes on Sunday, Nov. 10, where they achieved the same result. Despite the two-game losing streak, Stony Brook was still able to clinch a spot in the America East playoffs.
The Stony Brook men’s lacrosse team was defeated by the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) Retrievers on Thursday, May 2 by a final score of 14-8. The loss came at home at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium and in the first round of the America East Playoffs, ending the Seawolves’ season and killing their playoff hopes early.
Ahead of their semifinal matchup on Sunday, Oct. 25, first-place Stony Brook Women’s Soccer took home numerous honors as the America East Conference released regular season awards on Wednesday, Oct. 24.
The Stony Brook softball team earned a 5-1 victory over the UMBC Retrievers Wednesday afternoon but fell against the UMass Lowell River Hawks 5-1 Thursday afternoon in its first two America East playoff games.
