The Stony Brook softball team’s postseason came to an end Friday, May 11 with a 9-0 loss to the Albany Great Danes after defeating the Maine Black Bears earlier in the afternoon 2-0.
The Stony Brook softball team rebounded from a rocky weekend with a 3-0 victory over Seton Hall Tuesday afternoon at Mike Sheppard, Sr. Field in South Orange, New Jersey.
Stony Brook Softball went 1-2 against the defending America East champion Albany Great Danes in its first conference series and currently has a 9-12 overall record this season.
The Stony Brook softball team traveled to Riverside, Calif., over the weekend to faceoff against Brown, UC Riverside and Saint Mary’s College in the UC Riverside Highlander Invitational, which saw the team gain two victories in five games.
The Stony Brook softball team traveled to Fort Myers, Florida over the weekend to play against Wright State, the University of Connecticut, Southern Illinois University and Florida Gulf Coast in the Florida Gulf Coast Invitational.
However, the team would have never been in the position to play against UMBC if they had not lost the first game against a lower-seeded Hartford team earlier in the day.
The Stony Brook softball team traveled up to Maine for a weekend series to face the Maine Black Bears. Playing a doubleheader on Saturday that required extra innings to decide one game, as well as a Sunday matinee, the Seawolves were unable to find a win.
