The Stony Brook women’s soccer team’s unbeaten streak came to an end in the Battle of Long Island. The Seawolves hosted the reigning conference champion Hofstra Pride on Sunday at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium.
There was no trap game in store for the Seawolves on Sunday, who took on the Hampton Pirates down in Virginia and thrashed them 6-1. Though it was a far cry from last year’s historic 12-0 romping, Stony Brook still earned three points.
In their conference opener on Thursday, the Seawolves outplayed the Campbell Camels in their return to Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium, but neither side came out victorious.
Following their first win of the season, the Seawolves (2-1-1) picked up another victory 2-1 over the Merrimack Warriors (1-2-0) on Sunday afternoon at Martone-Mejail Field. Another strong performance on both ends brought Stony Brook a winning record.
