The Stony Brook women's soccer team took its final bow of the season after falling to Northeastern, 2-1, in the quarterfinals of the Colonial Athletic Association women’s soccer championship tournament.
The Seawolves traveled to Philadelphia to take on the University of Pennsylvania Quakers at Rhodes Field on Sunday, Sept. 11. The game finally began to change towards the very end when the Quakers offense dominated, handing Stony Brook a 3-0 defeat.
The Seawolves hosted the Providence Friars at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 4 for their sixth game of the season. The Friars’ offense ran circles around the Stony Brook defense and handed Stony Brook a 4-2 loss.
An infusion of youth has turned this entire team around, as the Seawolves appear reborn in the early stretch of their 2022 season. Still playing in the non-conference part of their schedule, Stony Brook has gotten off to a 3-2 start.
The Seawolves traveled to Ohio on Thursday to play the Cincinnati Bearcats at Gettler Stadium. The team played its worst game of the year so far, from the minimal offense efforts to the weak defense that led to a 5-1 loss.
