It’s not quite the environment of a team coming off its first-ever NCAA Tournament berth and second-straight America East championship, but that’s the point. The Stony Brook women’s basketball team doesn’t need to be reminded of the expectations on their shoulders this year, because they hold themselves to a higher standard than anyone else.
India Pagan could have walked away from Stony Brook last year at the pinnacle of her career after leading the Seawolves to their first-ever NCAA Tournament berth and earning plenty of individual accolades along the way.
After an offensive explosion in Tuesday’s blowout over Delaware State, the Seawolves hit the road with high intentions — intentions to keep up with the strong defense and aggressiveness that had been on full display in the season opener.
Assistant coaches Delmar “Buck” Carey and Nicole Mitchell and Director of basketball operations Arnika Edwards will join the Seawolves for the 2021-22 season, the team announced in a press release this Friday.
