Amidst a Undergraduate Student Government’s (USG) election that is majorly uncontested for Executive Council (EC) candidates, Presidential Candidate, junior Bryan Villatoro dropped out mid-race on April 5.
“For a lot of international students or students who have a history from other countries around the world, they’re living here and they don’t get to see their family as often. Now they get to bring that part of their culture and show it off as well.”
On Thursday, Feb. 10, the Stony Brook campus had a taste of the MTV comedy rap battle show “Wild ‘n Out” when USG brought in cast members Conceited, Justina Valentine and Radio Big Mack as part of their recurring “Stony Brook Comedies” series.
The Undergraduate Student Government announced they will be making efforts to end the disconnect between themselves and the student body with monthly town hall meetings during the USG Senate meeting on Thursday, Oct. 21.
Reginald Ligonde, a senior business major and non-traditional student, was elected into the USG Senate during their meeting on Nov. 5. Ligonde explained that he applied for the role in order to bring attention to an underrepresented community.
