In their regular season finale, the Seawolves (17-12, 11-7 CAA) traveled to New Jersey to take on the Monmouth Hawks on Saturday. Even a 19-2 run over the last five minutes of the game could not stop Stony Brook from falling to the Hawks, 72-71.
In a sloppy game that featured 40 turnovers and 37 fouls, the Stony Brook women’s basketball team cleaned up its act and engineered a huge come-from-behind victory.
Riding the momentum from their win on Friday, the Seawolves (16-9, 10-4 CAA) traveled to North Carolina on Sunday to face the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) Seahawks. Stony Brook overwhelmed the Seahawks on both sides of the court, blowing them out 64-46.
Though guard Annie Warren broke the Stony Brook women’s basketball team’s all-time three-point record, the accomplishment was not enough to grab a win.
