A suspect was arrested late Friday evening for the burglary that took place on Thursday morning at Shop Red West, according to Lawrence Zacarese, vice president for Enterprise Risk Management and chief security officer.

Tyrone Wilson Stevens, a landscape and snow removal contracted employee on campus, is now being charged with burglary in the third degree, criminal mischief in the second degree and possession of burglar’s tools. Stevens has an arrest record.

Stevens allegedly broke into the campus bookstore early Thursday morning. Nothing was stolen from the bookstore but there was damage, including a broken window and two damaged cash registers that were already empty.

Carlstrom and Ritter Inc., which Stevens worked for, was cooperative with the University Police investigators. Stevens will be terminated and banned from campus.
