The Stony Brook University Police Department (UPD) has identified a suspect behind the April 18 burglary reported at the Staller Center for the Arts, according to an email sent to the campus community around 4:44 p.m. on Sunday, April 29.

“Our department immediately increased foot patrols and commenced an investigation,” Chief of Police Robert J. Lenahan wrote in the email.¬† “This morning, University Police officers were able to locate the suspect and a subsequent interview by University Investigators led to an individual with no University affiliation being charged with committing the aforementioned¬† burglaries.”

UPD could not immediately be reached for comment.
