The Stony Brook University Police Department (UPD) has identified a suspect behind the April 18 burglary reported at the Staller Center for the Arts, according to an email sent to the campus community around 4:44 p.m. on Sunday, April 29.

“Our department immediately increased foot patrols and commenced an investigation,” Chief of Police Robert J. Lenahan wrote in the email.  “This morning, University Police officers were able to locate the suspect and a subsequent interview by University Investigators led to an individual with no University affiliation being charged with committing the aforementioned  burglaries.”

UPD could not immediately be reached for comment.
