Stony Brook's women basketball team played their final game of the season on Mar.14th, where they played the Hartford Hawks in the quarterfinals of the America East Tournament. The long-awaited NCAA Championships came and went last week during Spring Break in Fayetteville, Arkansas without much hurrah from any University not named Arizona State. Arizona State pulled off a sweep in both the mens' and womens' pole vault, and cruised to numerous other first place finishes. (0) comments
On Sunday March 16th Stony Brook's women's lacrosse won 18-9 at Monmouth. After being tied 2-2 Stony Brook put the game away early, scoring 7 unanswered goals. Kaitlin Leggio scored five goals, while Amy Hallion and Melissa Cook added four a piece. Sophomore goalie Mickey Cahill made seven saves for the Seawolves and recorded her first collegiate victory. Four games in 11 days doesn't seem like a big deal. In lacrosse, however, it can define your season. The Seawolves played four games, two against ranked opponents and faired well. They were able to win two big games, lost a heartbreaker, and capped it off with a stomping. (0) comments
