Stony Brook set to join CAA

SBU has accepted an invitation to join the Colonial Athletic Association, a Stony Brook Athletics official confirmed with The Statesman. The move will be formally announced tomorrow, Jan. 25, at a press conference held by Commissioner Joe D’Antonio.

Stony Brook and Buffalo formally named New York public flagship universities

Stony Brook University was formally designated as a flagship public university of New York alongside the University at Buffalo by Gov. Kathy Hochul on Jan. 5. The announcement was made during Hochul’s first annual State of the State address.

COVID-19 booster shot is now required for all SUNY, CUNY students to remain on campus

The storm, which was recently reclassified as a Category 1 hurricane, is expected to linger into Sunday afternoon and evening. If Henri remains as a Category 1, Long Islanders should expect 80 mph winds, gusts up to 90 to 100 mph and storm surges between 3 to 6 feet.
